Sharing and Contributing

Each Community of Practice is encouraged to "SHARE" their learning journey after each CofP day and then "CONTRIBUTE" community artifacts ( rubrics, lesson plans, action research finding, manuals etc) at the end of the 3rd day.

SHARe

In our pursuit of a truly collaborative learning environment with RVS,  Communities of Practice is evolving beyond group reflection and reporting to a culture of SHARING!

This year communities are required to confirm that milestones have been met and share resources within Rocky View Schools RVSPL registration system.  Communities are still encouraged to publicly share what they are working on using one or many social media tools. Communities will need to add comments and results to the RVSPL stream and might consider adding posts in the RVS Community of Practice Google+ community and/or tweet using  #rvs_cofp and/or #rvsed (if you want a larger following).

Communities that want to extend their learning to a global audience.....

Preferred  Social Media Choice

Another social media suggestion

tweet with #rvs_cofp and/or #rvsed (if you want a larger following)

Communities that would prefer to use the original reflection template.....

     CONTRIBUTe

After we "share the journey" we need to take it one step further and contribute the artifacts that were generated by the community.

This year all community contributions will be housed within the RVSPL registration system. Simply log into your community and select the "share results" tab/icon

Not comfortable with Social media? Nothing to Contribute?

If you are not quite ready to "share and contribute" or the work of your community does not lend itself to the creation of a finished product, then you can default back to the original reporting process. The completed reflection template must then be uploaded to your community within the RVSPL system

    Ideas for Reflection

(pick and chose the ones that make sense for your community)

    1. Explain how your new learning has affected your professional work. In particular, state which skills were learned or more finely honed and how have you incorporated them into your professional work. Describe how the strategies learned or created were more effective than what you have done before.
    2. Which features have you actually tried or embedded in your work (provide specific examples/applications.
    3. Indicate how your chosen 21st Century competencies are reflected in this CofP work.
    4. Provide specific examples of how your new understanding is affecting and benefiting student learning in your classroom or workplace. What does your collected data indicate?
    5. To what new areas of professional learning has this year's Cofp work led you?
    6. Provide a reference list of works/bibliography of your studies if applicable?
